In 2017, Visit Jacksonville experienced a shift in its mission that profoundly altered its operating structure.  To respond to its changing mission, Visit Jacksonville decided to feature all local businesses, regardless of partnership or engagement level, through Visit Jacksonville marketing activities. Visit Jacksonville also renewed its focus on the local community, with increased efforts to turn Jacksonville locals and community stakeholders into champions of the DMO, helping this critical audience understand the value achieved through restructuring the organization.

Visit Jacksonville began by engaging in a comprehensive research study, which culminated in an extensive and insightful report as well as an engaging and authentic brand platform and position that formed the foundation for all digital executions. Leveraging Visit Jacksonville's existing database allowed Tempest to rapidly prototype navigational elements, transitions, use of color, and intentional fonts and custom iconography to achieve an incredibly short development timeframe. This empowered the Tempest team to bring the new Visit Jacksonville marketing campaign to life at breakneck speed, without sacrificing the quality of the final user experience.

The new website captures the unique character of Jacksonville by focusing on unexpected experiences available to visitors. Stunning photography showcases travelers reveling in unique experiences. Beachy tones of warm pinks and sea blue, punctuated by vibrant yellow convey the fresh face of the destination, while bold, confident fonts and copy invite the website visitor to rediscover Jacksonville. The resulting immersive digital experience engages the website’s educated, sophisticated audience and delivers best-in-class, mobile-first UX. The website also meets essential travel planning needs with with robust filtering and sorting options and dynamic mapping.
