Meet Minneapolis chose to reimagine its digital marketing platform ahead of Super Bowl LII to showcase the city's unique, world-class offerings.
As host to one of the biggest events in the world, Super Bowl LII, Meet Minneapolis knew its city would be under an international spotlight. In the months leading up to the big event, Meet Minneapolis partnered with Tempest to completely redesign its website and unveil a new online platform that supports the city's international exposure and highlights everything the destination has to offer. The resulting mobile-first, fully responsive website delivers optimal mobile user-experience for Super Bowl visitors to navigate throughout Minneapolis.
The new website featured a Super Bowl section to make it easy for sports fans to find out about pre-game events and useful travel information. A new neighborhood section enables visitors to uncover hidden gems and off-the-beaten-path restaurants, shopping, and culture. The website's overall creative direction is infused with subtle angles, a cool, bright color palette, and sleek white space, evoking the Bold North architectural styling of the now iconic U.S. Bank Stadium. Large-format photography and HTML5 HD videos immerse the visitor in the Minneapolis experience, creating a memorable first impression and setting the tone for the visitor experience from the first pageview.
We are very fortunate in Minneapolis to be enjoying national and international exposure thanks to events such as the Super Bowl . . . In addition, our vibrant neighborhoods, incredible amenities and transformed infrastructure will continue to attract more and more business and leisure travelers in the months and years to come.
