California's "Little Denmark" recognized for excellence in website design.
Tempest is excited to announce that the Solvang Conference & Visitors Bureau has been recognized with a 2015 Silver Adrian Award for Digital Marketing-Best Website Design from the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI).
The Solvang, California area is a stunning destination in the heart of California wine country, and is a mecca for wine lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and foodies alike. Thousands of visitors flock to the historic Danish community for its wide selection of wine tasting rooms, hiking, horseback riding, world-class dining, and vibrant local culture. The Solvang Conference & Visitors Bureau partnered with Tempest Interactive Media to create and manage the web design, development, and implementation process, along with strategizing and executing an organic marketing program post-launch.

The new website showcases Solvang as a modern, upscale yet accessible destination that combines its rich Danish history and classic California sensibilities. Stunning, large-format slideshows that support video files as well as high-resolution photography, bring the destination alive for website visitors, and defines the Solvang Conference and Visitors Bureau as a trusted resource for planning travel in the area. The website showcases engaging user interface features on all web-enabled devices, and enhances the Solvang Conference and Visitors Bureau leisure travel and meeting planner database by encouraging opt-ins through newsletter signups, guide requests, and event calendar submissions.

About The Award
The HSMAI Adrian Awards began in 1957 and consider entries from every segment of the travel and hospitality industry, including hotels, airlines, cruise lines, car rental companies, and destinations, among others. The 2015 winners were selected from a field of more than 1,300 entries by senior industry and media experts. The HSMAI 2015 Adrian Awards black-tie awards gala was held in New York City on February 16, 2016; attended by more than 1,000 hospitality, travel, and tourism marketing executives from around the world.
